Petrol Price Crosses Over 100 Per Litre In Sikkim

While, petrol in Sikkim capital Gangtok is priced at Rs 100.50 per litre, diesel is being sold at Rs 91.55 per litre.

Guwahati: Sikkim became the first state in the Northeast, where petrol is priced at over Rs 100 per litre. While, petrol in Sikkim capital Gangtok is priced at Rs 100.50 per litre, diesel is being sold at Rs 91.55 per litre.

Prices of petrol and diesel increased by 35 paise per litre and 18 paise per litre, according to a price notification from state-owned fuel retailers.

This increase in the prices of petrol and diesel is 34th and 33rd respectively in two months.

With this hike in price, Sikkim has joined the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bihar, Punjab and Ladakh, where petrol is being sold at over Rs 100 per litre.

The hike in petrol price for 34 times in two months has resulted in its price increase by Rs 9.11.

On the other hand, a hike in diesel prices for 33 times resulted in its price increase by Rs 8.63.
