In connection with the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019, dry days have been declared in Kamrup Metropolitan district from April 16th, 2019 to April 18th, 2019.
It is to mention that the possession, distribution and sale of liquor is completely prohibited during the above mentioned three days.
All the wholesale/bonded warehouse, IMFL Retail ‘OFF’ and “On’ shops including Clun ‘On’, hotels ‘On’, and country shop will remain closed during this period.
Any violation of the order shall be dealt with under the relevant provision of the Assam Excise Act and Rules to respective Constituencies.
Karimganj, Silchar, autonomous district, Mangaldoi and Nagaon constituencies will go to polls in the second phase on April 18th, 2019 An estimated 78.23 per cent of the 76,03,458 voters in five constituencies exercised their franchise during the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in Assam.
