In a bid to make Hailakandi clean and beautiful, the Hailakandi Municipal Board has launched a campaign ‘I love Hailakandi. My town…my responsibility. Trashtag challenge’ for citizen inclusive participation in making the town clean.
The campaign was launched by Additional Deputy Commissioner, EL Faihraem at the Government Boys’ High School here on October 15th, 2019. After launching the campaign, Faihraem said, “The campaign aims for citizen inclusive participation for making Hailakandi clean and beautiful. Any citizen especially youth or students of Hailakandi town are welcome to participate in this cleanliness competition. Cash prizes are up for grabs.”
Under the campaign, citizens can choose any locality of the town that is unclean and take up a cleaning drive with a bunch of friends. “But do not forget to share a before and after selfie of the clean-up. The municipality is there to provide necessary help and assistance,” added Faihraem.
Denizens of the town who will take an active part in the cleanliness mission will also be rewarded by the municipal board by painting their residence gate ‘green’ as a mark of an appreciation for their efforts in sprucing up Hailakandi town.
And that is not all, the most cleaned areas of the town will be suitably awarded with cash incentives by the end of the month.
