Post-election scenario: Congress nullifies all unilateral disciplinary actions taken by DCCs in Assam

Guwahati: The general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Jitendra Singh has directed the District Congress Committees of Assam to make no organizational changes, appointments without prior approval from AICC.

The order came into effect after certain District Congress Committees of Assam allegedly made some unilateral disciplinary actions without following the procedure laid down by the Indian National Congress.

In an official note, Jitendra Singh said, “It has come to my notice that certain District Congress Committees of Assam have taken unilateral disciplinary actions without following the procedure laid down as per the constitution of Indian National Congress. Such actions taken by DCCs are hereby annulled/stayed from taking effect unless such actions were against party functionaries who contested recent assembly election against INC or Mahajoot candidate.”

Singh also directed the APCC to form a committee to look into any disciplinary issues being raised after the assembly elections. “No action is to be taken without adhering to the procedure laid down as per the constitution of INC,” added Singh.
