    Assam scribe killed in suspected hit-and-run case

    Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered high level probe in to the suspected hit-and-run case.

    Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a journalist of a private electronic media house was killed in a suspected hit-and-run case on Wednesday night at Kakopathar in Tinsukia.

    The deceased, identified as Parag Bhuyan, was hit by a car in front of his home.

    Bhuyan was rushed to Aditya Nursing Home in Dibrugarh after the incident and he succumbed to death while undergoing treatment.  

    Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered high level probe in to the suspected hit-and-run case.

    Following the order of the CM, Tinsukia police was able to seize the vehicle and apprehended the driver James Murah and helper Baba Bordoloi.

    Further investigation into the case is on.

    It is suspected that Bhuyan was attacked by miscreants as he had brought many corruptions of political leaders to light.

    Expressing grief over the sad demise of the journalist via Twitter, Sonowal said: “Saddened to learn about the untimely demise of Parag Bhuyan, a reputed journalist and Vice-President of Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association. My sincere condolences to his bereaved family members & well-wishers.”

    Parag Bhuyan was the brother of Assam Jatiya Parisad’s co-ordinator Jagadish Bhuyan, who also served as MLA from Sadiya Legislative assembly, Tinsukia district.
