Pre-monsoon rainfall activity likely to be witnessed over NE states soon
Guwahati: Enhanced pre-monsoon rainfall activity is likely to be witnessed over Northeastern states from March 29 to April 02, 2021.
Under the influence of strong lower level southwesterlies from the Bay of Bengal, widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lighting and heavy falls at isolated places are likely over Northeast India.
Isolated to scattered rainfall activity is likely to be witnessed from March 25 -27 and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity is likely to be witnessed from March 28- 29.
Speaking to TIME8, India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist Sanjay Shaw said, “Rainfall activity is expected to increase over South Assam, South Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur from March 30 onwards with the probable occurrence of thunderstorm/thundersquall/lightning and heavy falls at isolated places.”

Possibilities of damage to vulnerable structures due to temporary gusty winds.
Action Suggested:
Avoid staying in vulnerable structure.
Avoid staying outside during raining time due to possible lighting strike
