Guwahati: President Draupadi Murmu is addressing the nation on Sunday on the eve of Independence Day. This is her first address to the nation as a President.

She said, “Namaskar! On the eve of the seventy-sixth Independence Day, I extend my warm greetings to all the Indians living in the country and abroad. She further said that August 14 is being celebrated as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. The purpose of celebrating this Memorial Day is to promote social harmony, human empowerment and unity.
