Guwahati: A prisoner in Barpeta District Jail has reportedly committed suicide inside the prison on Wednesday. He was identified as Hasibul Hasan.
Sources said that he was found hanging to the prison ventilation on Wednesday morning.
Sources added that he was arrested on kidnapping charge for eloping with a girl.
Family members of the deceased suspected a foul play and demanded probe into his death.
