Guwahati / Dehradun, December 5: Indigo and Vistara airlines offered to carry the dead bodies of two students of Arunachal Pradesh free of cost, who died in a road accident in Dehradun, Uttrakhand on Sunday.
Two students, identified as Chimar Basar and Gyati Sumpi, who were pursuing their graduation from the Agriculture College at Dehradun were on a scooter when they were hit by a truck on Sunday night. Chimar Basar was from Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh and Gyati Sumpi was from Lower Subansiri.
The families of the students were informed about the incident and were asked to receive the bodies by the Police. Both the families claimed that they do not have the financial means to carry the bodies of their sons from Dehradun to Arunachal Pradesh.
Private Airlines Indigo and Vistara along with an NGO taken up the responsibility to deliver the dead bodies to their hometown from Dehradun. Both the airlines offered to deliver the dead bodies of the student to Guwahati free of cost.
Indigo and Vistara had carried one body each reached Guwahati today, from Guwahati the bodies will be taken by the NGO in a car and will be handed over to their families in Arunachal Pradesh.
