Priyanka Gandhi being asked to vacate Government Bungalow is Govt’s Political Vendetta: Tarun Gogoi

The government had served a notice to Priyanka Gandhi on July 1 asking her to vacate her government allotted bungalow

Guwahati: After the government issued notice to Priyanka Gandhi to vacate her government bungalow in Delhi, former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi termed the issue as a political vendetta by the Narendra Modi-led government.

Tarun Gogoi in a tweet wrote that lowering the security cover, asking to vacate the accommodation of Priyanka Gandhi in spite of her father and grandmother being former Prime Ministers and who were killed by extremists is nothing but extreme political vendetta of the Modi government.

He said that the decision was a crude and futile attempt to “blunt fiery spirit of Priyanka Gandhi”.

The government had served a notice to Priyanka Gandhi on July 1 asking her to vacate the bungalow which she was allotment back in 1997 for security reasons. As per the government, the allotment was withdrawn as she was no longer a Special Protection Group (SPG) protectee.

Following this, there are reports that the Congress leader will shift to Lucknow from Delhi.
