    Prohibitory Orders Clamped In Dibrugarh

    Violation of the order will be punishable under section 188 of the IPC

    The Dibrugarh district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC in the entire district with immediate effect till further orders.

    The decision was taken in view of the sensitive law and order situation prevailing in the district owing to various reasons. In a bid to prevent any untoward incident and fearing breach of public peace and tranquility, endangering the safety of public life, Deputy Commissioner Pallab Gopal Jha promulgated the order on October 22nd, 2019.

    The prohibitory orders have been made on the following activities: Financial collection (chanda), forceful subscriptions/ donations,  roadside collection, extortion in any manner or form from any person, business establishments, office or intimidation of such kind by any person or organization for such collections.

    Violation of the order will be punishable under section 188 of the IPC.
