Pune police busts sex racket run by a Naga woman in Kondhwa, rescues 5

Kohima/Aizwal, September 9: Pune police on Friday night busted a sex racket being run by a Naga woman and rescued five including one from Nagaland and one from Mizoram who were forced into flesh trade from a shopping mall in Kondhwa, about 9 km from Pune.

37-year-old Petekhiv Pamai, who hails from Nagaland, allegedly managed the affairs of the spa has been arrested while another was booked after a team comprising senior inspector Milind Gaikwad, sub-inspector Priya Tilekar and a few constables following a tip-off,  raided the spa located on the second floor of the mall on NIBM – Undri road in Kondhwa at around 11 pm on Friday.

“We are currently asking Pamai on how she was managing the affairs of the spa. The rescued girls alleged that she had lured them to the spa with the help of an agent promising of profitable job and then forced them to prostitution,” said the source.

“We had the tip off and planted one of our personnel as decoy customers to catch them red-handed on the act,” a police source in the Kundhwa police station said.

The rescued Nagaland woman is 28 years old and the Mizoram woman is 30 years old while the three others were from Thailand (aged between 35-40 years) were here on business visas and had joined the spa about two months ago. All of them were sent to an observation home.
