Guwahati: Rahul Gandhi, the star campaigner of the Congress kick-started his campaign for the third phase of the election after visiting the historical Kamakhya Temple at Nilachal Hills in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Rahul launched his campaigns for Chaygaon constituency Congress-AIUDF ‘Mahajot’ candidate Rekibuddin Ahmed and Borkhetri constituency candidate Diganta Barman.

Speaking to media at the Kamakhya Temple, Rahul said, “Congress will fulfill its 5 guarantees at any cost. We are not BJP, we stick to our commitments. The party had already proved it in the states like Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Karnataka. This time we will prove it in Assam.”
Rahul also took Twitter after paying his homage to Goddess Kamakhya saying, “असम, सम्मान व प्रगति के लिए इस संघर्ष में हम आपके साथ हैं। (We are with you in the struggle for Assam’s respect and progress.)”
Rahul reached poll-bound Assam on March 30 and participated in a public meeting with women at India Club Ground, Tarapur in Silchar and then headed to Halflong, Bokajan constituencies for public meetings accordingly. He travelled back to Guwahati in the evening hours.
Notably, the Union Home Minister of India Amit Shah has also arrived in Assam for election campaigns for the third phase of the state polls.
