17 Minors Rescued, 4 Held By RPF In Assam

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier(NF) Railway has rescued as many as 17 minor boys and girls from different stations, trains from July 1st- July 7th, 2019 before they could be lured by anti-social elements.

During this period, the RPF has successfully nabbed four persons who were involved in various types of crimes against railway passengers and 40-odd persons were also arrested for pulling Alarm Chain of passenger trains without any reason.

On July 2nd, 2019, the Guwahati RPF during checking in train No. 14055 DN (Brahmaputra Mail) arrested 1 person with recovery of 7 kg cannabis worth Rs. 35000. In another case on July 3rd, 2019, the CPDS RPF of Hojai, during routine checking at Hojai Railway station, held 2 persons involved in theft of passenger belongings with recovery of 3 mobile phones stolen from the passengers from their possession.

In another incident on July 4th, 2019, CPDS team of Rangiya and RPF of Barpeta Road while conducting drive against touting activities at Sorbhog booking counter apprehended 1 person with recovery of 4 Railway tickets worth Rs. 9000 and cash Rs. 19,500.

The arrested persons along with recovered articles were handed over to GRP for further course of action.
