    Raksha Bandhan is finally here and people are already on a double celebratory mood as this year the festivity coincides with the 73rd Independence day. The city streets have already decked up with colorful rakhis, gifts, balloons, sweets marking a grand celebration.

    Rakhi is an annual Hindu ritual celebrating the bond between brother and sister. As a part of the ritual the sister ties a fancy sacred thread on her brothers’ wrists and exchange gifts, the brother promises to keep her safe and protect her. The festival is celebrated on the full moon of Hindu month Shravan, the festival of joy and emotions observing the beautiful bond of siblings.
