Ram Vilas Paswan likely to be Rajya Sabha member from Assam

Guwahati, November 9: . The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has offered the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan to be sent to the Rajya Sabha from Assam.

Though after initial inhibitions, the LJP chief has eventually given his consent to be made a member of the Upper House from Assam, instead of contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Bihar in 2019, as reported by Deccan Herald.

“Paswan will be sent to the Rajya Sabha. And the LJP will be allotted five seats, instead of its six sitting MPs in Bihar,” said a BJP leader, as quoted by Deccan Herald.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be retiring as Rajya Sabha member from Assam in April 2019.
