Recovery Of Rs 1.8 Crore: FIR Against BJP Candidate’s Son, Former MLA In Arunachal Pradesh

With controversy brewing of cash being seized to the tune of Rs 1.8 crore in Arunachal Pradesh belonging to a BJP candidate’s son and a former legislator, the Arunachal police following the directives of the Election Commission(EC) has lodged an FIR for investigation.

The FIR has been lodged against Christopher Perme, son of BJP candidate fielded from Bebo assembly constituency Dangi Perme and former legislator Ralong Borang at Pasighat Police Station in East Siang district of Arunachal.

Earlier, the additional chief electoral officer Kanki Darang had confirmed of recovering Rs 1 crore from a vehicle by Perme and another Rs 80,000 was recovered from a vehicle registered under the name of deputy secretary of state transport department. The CEO had further confirmed of the ex-MLA claiming the money belonging to him.

As per the FIR, the nodal officer of a flying squad named Dakto Riba had received some information about the movement of huge cash in two vehicles which were parked at Siang Guest House.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala alleged that money had been distributed among the people ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s rally at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh on April 3rd, 2019.
