Residents of Nagaon’s Kampur impose 4 days of self Lockdown

On Wednesday one person was reported to be positive of the COVID-19

Guwahati/Nagaon: After a person in Nagaon’s Kamrup was tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the residents of Kampur on Wednesday declared a lockdown by themselves in the area for four days.

A local of the village said that on Wednesday, they came to know that a person who recently came to the census town from Guwahati was tested positive for the virus. The residents became worried after this news as everyone had seen the infected person move openly in the shops and other localities.

Concerned that the person may have infected other persons as well, the residents announced that they will be following a strict lockdown all by themselves in Kampur.

They further appealed the district administration to announce a full-fledged lockdown in the town area.

Some people have also asked the administration for a lockdown in the entire Nagaon district as there were several reports of people not following any COVID-19 norms.
