    Revamped Gandhi Mandap To Open For Visitors On Oct 2

    A ‘Light and Sound show’ will soon be started at the Gandhi mandap

    The Gandhi Mandap located atop the Sarania hills in Guwahati is all set to be opened for the public on October 2nd, 2019 keeping in view of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

    The new-look of Gandhi Mandap will be the topmost tourist destinations in Assam with numerous facilities and attractions for people of all age groups.

    The inauguration ceremony will start from 9 am on October 2nd, 2019. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate the Udyan. Also, State Minister of Guwahati Development Department, Siddhartha Bhattacharya will be present on the occasion.

    Speaking to Time8, Moloy Bora, Managing Director of Smart City Guwahati Limited said, “Chief Minister Sonowal will inaugurate the newly decorated Gandhi Mandap. After the inauguration ceremony, the Udyan gates will be opened for visitors.”

    The renovation of the Gandhi Mandap was taken up by the Guwahati Smart City Limited and the total cost of it was around Rs 3.10 crore.

    Also, developmental works and beautification drive of the park is going on under which a light and sound show will be organized to woo tourists and visitors. Pure drinking water and sanitation will also be provided to visitors.
