Guwahati: Eyamin Ali, a rickshaw puller’s son from Barpeta proved that poverty can never be an excuse to dream big after he scored highest marks and secured the top rank in the Assam High Madrassa examination 2020.
Eyamin Ali speaking to TIME8 said that he was very happy after coming to know that he had topped the exams and thanked his teachers and parents for his success in the exam.
Ali added, “He aspires to become an MBBS doctor in the future and will take up science in the higher secondary. He will start preparing for the medical entrance right from the beginning.”
He further added that he is fortunate that his parents could somehow manage the basic amenities needed for his education. He thanked his father the most because his father, Karam Ali had been working very hard for his education. Starting from pulling rickshaws to selling vegetables in the local market
Eyamin had also appealed the local public representatives to help in his studies so that he can bring laurels to his village by becoming a successful doctor.
Eyamin had scored 558 marks in total and got letter marks in all the seven subjects (marks are counted for six) he appeared for. He scored letter marks in Arabic Literature, English, Fish & Aquaid, Assamese, General Mathematics, General Science and Social Science.
Along with him, Apshana Yesmin stood second in the state from SAB High Madrassa, Kamrup Metro securing 552 marks and Rashidul Ali secured the third position with 551 marks.
A total of 9,347 candidates appeared for the High Madrassa examination and 5,951 candidates passed the exams with girls out-shining the boys. In total 5,640 girls appeared in the exam and 3,532 passed while 2,419 boys out of the total 3,707 appeared passed the exam.
