RomCom Priyaar Priyo is a delightful watch with a sharp social comment

Guwahati, November 10: Watching Priyaar Priyo, you are constantly reminded of how a director like Munin Barua can continue to weave magic throughout the movie. Though the film consists of a huge ensemble cast including veterans like Pranjal Saikia and Nikumani Saikia, every actor has justified their role and given their best; even the debutant Aradhana Borgohain.

Pranjal Saikia plays an orthodox and angry old Assamese patriarch and his acting is so convincing that you will easily be able to relate to someone whom you have met in your life. Zubeen’s acting has proved once again that his chemistry with the master-director has always worked wonders.

Zubeen Garg’s character will instantly remind you of Amol Palekar if you have watched the classic Hindi language comedy movie Gol Maal (1979), directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. As his first comedy role it was brilliant but people can look forward to even better comic timing in his upcoming movies.

Aradhana, who plays the lead female protagonist, will not for a moment let you feel that this is her first movie. The crackling chemistry between Zubeen and Aradhana added to the charm!

Tridip Lahon and Bikram Rajkhowa have done full justice to their comic roles and the audience seemed to look forward to seeing more of them throughout the movie. KK of Beherbari Outpost’s fame was at his best, one only wishes he had a little more screen space!

Munin Barua directed romcom Priyaar Priyo is hugely successful in making a sharp commentary on the contemporary Assamese society and yet continues to entertain the audience throughout. Massive roars of laughter were elicited from the delighted audience.

The movie justifies the love and respect Munin Barua commands as one of the best storytellers the contemporary Assamese Film industry has ever seen.

The shots are beautiful, costumes are perfect and as far as look and feel goes, there is absolutely nothing to complain!

TIME8 is indeed very happy and proud to be the Official Online Media Partner of a movie like Priyaar Priyo.
