A woman lost a thumping amount of Rs 80,000 from her State Bank of India’s account (SBI).
Khyama Saikia, who hails from Dalgaon town in Darrang district, shared that she had withdrawn Rs Rs 5,000 from an SBI ATM branch in Dalgaon on February 14th, 2019. Two days later, she visited the Kharupetia SBI branch to update her passbook.
While checking her passbook, she observed that three persons identified as Phanidhar Nath, Nurul Haque and Nakul Bhowmick had withdrawn money from her account on January 10th, 2019.
“According to the passbook update, Phanidhar withdrew Rs 40,000, Nurul and Nakul Rs 20,000 each from different locations. I approached the bank officials and later lodged an FIR,” said Saikia.
“It’s my hard earned money. I demand the police to trace the culprits,” she added.
