GUWAHATI: All beneficiaries to whom Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hand over land pattas on January 23 at Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar district would undergo RTPCR Covid19 test. Anyone testing positive with coronavirus would not be able to attend the ceremony.

On Tuesday, chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal while taking stock of the preparations at the ground has asked the health department to do the necessary arrangements. “In view of Covid 19 pandemic, the chief minister Sonowal instructed the health department to conduct RTPCR test of the beneficiaries who would formally receive the land patta documents from the Prime Minister. He also took stock of the steps taken by PHE, PWD, APDCL, Transport etc. departments and directed them to complete all necessary activities expeditiously,” an official statement from the chief minister’s office (CMO) said.
Sonowal while reviewing progress of activities taken in connection with the meeting also held discussion with the district administration and senior officials of the government departments. He directed the officials to work with coordination to ensure success of the meeting.
He also asked them to take steps so that people visiting the venue do not have to face any difficulty.
