Congress legislator from Mariani legislative constituency Rupjyoti Kurmi on March 15th, 2019 slammed singer Krishnamoni Chutia, who has been campaigning in Titabor for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the ensuing general election.

Titabor, which is considered as Congress’ fort, is the home constituency of three-time Assam Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi.

Asking the artiste to focus on his art, Kurmi questioned, “Who is Krishnamoni Chutia? What does he know about politics? What does he know about Titabor?” “Krishnamoni is a son-in-law of Titabor. He should not lose respect stepping into politics. We are dreaming to regain power in 2021 Assembly election with Tarun Gogoi as Chief Minister of Assam for another term,” Kurmi added.

Earlier, speaking to media persons, Chutia said, “Tarun Gogoi is like my father. He should take rest now and spend time with his family members.”
