“Arrest Punjab CM”: Assam CM Sarma demands top level probe in PM’s security breach incident

Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday claimed that the security breach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s on January 5 was not a mere incident but a conspiracy by Congress party and demanded immediate arrest of Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

Citing a sting operation done by a private TV channel, Sarma said that the incident of road blockade in front of PM’s convoy on that day was a part of conspiracy to kill the PM.

He said, “The sting operation by the news channel exposed that the entire incident was sponsored. It was not a spontaneous protest by the farmers but a part of a greater conspiracy in which Punjab government was involved. I demand immediate sacking of Punjab chief minister.”

The Assam CM said that the location where PM’s convoy was blocked by the protesters was merely a few kilometers away from Indo-Pakistan borders. “The PM’s entourage was within the range of missile, drone attack and even sniper. It hints that Punjab chief minister might be involved in an international conspiracy in which some radical groups are also a part. Khalistani radicals are involved,” Sarma added.

The CM also demanded a high level probe by some neutral agency.

“By making the life of the PM vulnerable, Congress has stooped very low. Maintaining the law and order is the state subject and therefore, the state’s chief minister should be made accountable,” Sarma said.
