Sootea, November 3: The Jyoti Prathamik Vidyalaya conducted the second phase of the Gunotsav 201 with only two girl students and three teachers on Saturday.
The school was established in the year 1975 and it started it only four students.
“Right now, the Gunotsav is going on for the lower primary section i.e., from Class II to Class V and in our school. We only have two students in Class IV,” said Moinul Hoque, Resource Centre Co-ordinator of the school.
It may be mentioned that Gunotsav is a quality enhancement initiative of the State for bringing about improvement in learning levels of students at Elementary level. It aims to evaluate schools and students of schools in order to assess their performance and design strategies to bring about quality improvement in levels of learning as well as in the school environment.
Assessment is done on four core areas viz Academic achievement of children of Class-2 to 8, Co-scholastic activities, Availability and Utilization of School Infrastructure and other facilities and Community Participation.
