    Scribe’s Mysterious Death: Guwahati police picks up one for questioning

    Guwahati: In the latest development to the mysterious death incident of senior journalist Purbajyoti Chutiya, a senior Assam Police official informed that one person has been picked up for questioning.

    The person has been identified as one Zulfikar.

    The police have also seized the mobile handset of journalist Purbajyoti for further verification into the case.

    Speaking to the media, the senior police official said, “We have picked up one person for questioning and waiting for the final post mortem report. We have seized the mobile phone of the journalist to verify possible external links into the case.”

    It is to be noted that senior sports journalist Purbajyoti Chutiya’s (of Niyomiya Barta newspaper) body was recovered under the mysterious conditions in Shewali Path in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area.

    The journalist was reported missing since 10.30 pm on Sunday, and his body was recovered from nearby a drain in front of his residence on Monday morning. There were injury marks on his body.
