Guwahati: The mysterious death of a couple named Rupai Saikia and Jengeri Saikia of Dilaojan created a sensation in Bokajan on Saturday.

According to reports, the police had recovered the semi-decomposed bodies of the couple two days after the incident.

Sources informed that Nipen Saikia, the only son of the married couple found them lying unconscious in the backyard of the house on Friday evening and informed the matter to the village head.

The police later recovered the bodies in a semi-decomposed condition and sent them for post mortem.

Meanwhile, the police have detained son Nipen Saikia for questioning.

Nipen, however, claimed that he was out of the station for some work and was not at home for the last two days.
