    Senior scribe found dead under mysterious condition in Guwahati, Family suspects murder

    Guwahati: Senior sports journalist Purbajyoti Chutiya’s (of Niyomiya Barta newspaper) body has been recovered under mysterious condition in Shewali Path in Guwahati’s Hatigaon area.

    The journalist was reported missing since 10.30 pm on Sunday, and shockingly his body was recovered from nearby a drain in front of his residence on Monday morning. There were injury marks on his body.

    Currently, a police team has reached the spot and launched an investigation in connection to the incident.

    Family members of the senior journalist suspected it to be a case of cold-blood murder. However, no official statement has been released in this regard.

    It is to be noted that journalist Purbajyoti had worked with several newsgroups and was presently serving as a sports journalist for Niyomiya Barta newspaper.

    Meanwhile, the members of the Guwahati Press Club have condemned the mysterious death of the scribe and demanded a probe into the matter.
