Guwahati: As many as seven Government Railway Police (GRP) posted at Kamakhya Railway Station have been closed to police reserve for allegedly selling seized Ganja.

According to reports, a large quantity of ganja was reportedly seized from a train at Kamakhya railway station last July 2. However, all seven on-duty GRP personnel were involved in selling the seized cannabis to an unidentified person in Boko.

Earlier, one GRP jawan identified as Purna Das was arrested in connection to the incident.

Meanwhile, disciplinary actions have been taken against all of the police personnel on duty that day.

The personnel who have the reserve closed have been identified as Balen Barman, Amal Kalita, Pranab Basumatary, Satya Das, Sailen Kakoty, Kuldeep Deka and Ismail Ali.
