Guwahati, October 10: In a hair-raising incident, a group of seven men, armed with weapons, climbed a wall, broke into a house but had to flee from the spot after the householders raised an alarm.
The activity of the group was recorded in the CCTV cameras installed in the house. The house belongs to Rajnikant Patowary, a retired railway official and is located in Kushal Nagar, Bamunimaidam.
The incident took place on October 8. The family alleged that a similar incident took place on October 3 when dacoits allegedly tried to break into the house but returned back. It was then, the family decided to install three CCTV cameras.
The family, which has lodged an FIR at the Chandmari Police Station, claimed that the city police is yet to take any action. The family stated that they have submitted the CCTV footage to the police. It is said that the police is yet to identify the dacoits.
On the night of October 8, Patowary’s son first spotted the group of men on the CCTVs and contacted the police. However, as per reports, receiving no help from the police, the family members raised an alarm and the group fled from the spot.
