Shopkeeper beaten to death for denying credit in Samaguri

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a shopkeeper in Samaguri area of Nagaon district in Assam was allegedly beaten to death by a man after being denied credit.

Reportedly, the incident took place on Monday when the victim, named Amsad Ali, was busy with his daily business when the accused came to his shop.

The accused, identified as Naser Ahmed, asked for some items on credit from the shop owned by Amsad.

When Amsad denied giving credit, Naser started to protest after which both of them got involved in an argument.

The argument soon turned into physical fight in which Ali was brutally beaten by Naser. Locals then intervened the fight but Amsad was already in severe condition.

He was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but during treatment Ali succumbed to his injuries.

Police has filed an FIR regarding the matter and initiated an investigation. Meanwhile, Ahmed has been absconding following the incident.
