Sikkim: 60-year-old man dies by suicide at hospital in Gangtok

Guwahati: The 60-year-old man died by suicide at the Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial (STNM) Hospital in Sikkim’s capital, Gangtok on Wednesday.

An elderly man was a resident of Tumin-Lingee village in East Sikkim district.

Since, June 27, he was admitted to the hospital with chronic kidney disease and was undergoing regular dialysis.

According to sources, at around 3.15 am, the man used a fruit knife to cut his own throat.

The further investigation is underway, said the official.
