Sikkim: Paykong Airports successfully conducts trial of SpiceJet Q400 Bombardier

The commercial flights will begin its service from January 28 next year after the higher authority’s approval.

Guwahati: The Paykong Airport in Sikkim on Tuesday has successfully conducted trials of SpiceJets Q400 Bombardier after the installation Required Navigation Performance (RNP) procedure specially for parking airport as per ICAI (International Civil Aviation organisation) Aeronautical survey recommendation.

SpiceJet limited, who have authorized to operate its service to Guwahati and Kolkata in the initial period were stopped its operation on June 2019, citing unconducive landing and weather problems.

The widening of airport basic strip up to 40 meters have been completed in the beginning of this year on January and its waiting for its formal resumption of its service at the earliest.

The commercial flights will begin its service from January 28 next year after the higher authority’s approval.
