GANGTOK: The home department of the Sikkim government on Sunday has sealed the Tashiling secretariat till Tuesday days after a person who visited the secretariat was tested positive of COVID 19.
In an official order, the home department said that the district administration of East district has informed that one person who visited the Tashiling secretariat, later tested positive for the COVID-19.
“As per standard protocol, the building will have to be contained for 72 hours and the premise to be fully sanitized. In order to facilitate the district administration to sanitize the building, it is hereby notified that all the offices located in the main secretariat building shall remain closed till August 18.”
The order added that all primary contacts identified by the state’s health department and district administration would remain in quarantine.
Sikkim has some 493 active COVID 19 cases so far with one death.
