    Sikkim Woman Tests Positive For COVID-19 In Delhi

    Sikkim has not reported any confirmed cases inside the state till date

    A 37-year-old woman from West Sikkim, who was undergoing dialysis in Delhi was tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on Tuesday.

    The 37 years woman was a resident of Uterray in West Sikkim. She was being treated for chronic kidney failure at Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute Hospital.

    She was tested positive on Monday and as of now, further initiatives is being taken to treat her.

    Her source of infection is yet to be known.

    Sikkim Chief Minister speaking on the case

    Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang has assured that all help will be extended to the affected family and further steps will be taken that no cases are reported within Sikkim.

    So far there has been no confirmed report of COVID-19 infection within the state and in order to keep it that way, the government had restricted the movement of inbound tourist till October.

    The government of Sikkim has termed this step as a precautionary step against the spread of the virus. The state has not reported any confirmed COVID-19 case till date and further all precautions are being maintained the state which has a population of around 7 lakh.
