    Social Media Post on Assam Poll Dates: PIB says it’s ‘Fake’

    Assam is slated to go for polls somewhere in April-May

    GUWAHATI: The Press Information Bureau (PIB)’s Fact Check wing on Friday labeled a social media post that claimed that dates of Assam Elections were declared by the Election Commission of India as ‘fake’.

    The PIB fact-checking wing in a tweet said, “A socialmedia post claims that the dates for 2021 Assam legislative assembly elections have been declared by the Election Commission of India. This claim is #Fake. No such announcement has been made by the Election Commission.”

    PIB has also posted an image of the ‘fake’ social media post.

    Assam is slated to go for polls somewhere in April-May. The dates were not declared yet.
