Guwahati: Huge drama prevailed at Sonapur on Wednesday morning when a mentally disturbed man climbed the 3300 high voltage transmission line tower and threatened to jump if anyone went to his rescue.

Following the incident, Sonapur police personnel later arrived at the scene.

After two hours of drama, the person identified as Dharmeshwar Boro was brought down by the police personnel.

According to reports, the incident took place in the morning hours, when Boro climbed the tower. Residents, who noticed him, alerted the Sonapur police. He was finally brought down and was taken to a nearby hospital for first aid.
