Sonowal Asks Gadkari To Start Construction Work Of Jorhat-Majuli Bridge

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on August 20th, 2019 called on Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi. Sonowal discussed various projects on infrastructure and connectivity for the development of the state.

Speaking with media persons, Sonowal said, “The discussion with Union minister Nitin Gadkari was fruitful. I urged him to start the construction work of the bridge connecting Jorhat and Majuli. As a result, he directed the officials of his department to take all the necessary steps for the completion of the said project.”

“We also discussed the construction of the bridge connecting Gohpur and Numaligarh and I urged him to expedite the repair work of highways in the state,” Sonowal added.

The Chief Minister also informed that extensive discussions took place between him and the Union Minister on issues of bridge and road construction and their maintenance in Assam.
