    Special task force to monitor vegetable, edible oil prices in Guwahati

    The task is being led by a team of officers from both by Food and Civil Supplies and Assam Police under the leadership of Executive Magistrate, Jituraj Gogoi (ACS) and Srabana Sonowal (ACS).

    Guwahtai: Amid the ongoing-protests in the state due to hike in the prices of essential commodities, the state government deployed a task force to monitor prices of all vegetables in Guwahati.

    In a meeting chaired by Food and Civil Supply Minister Phani Bhusan Choudhury and attended by Kamrup (M) DC Biswajit Pegu, top officials of Food and Civil supplies, Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), Agricultural Marketing Board , Guwahati Police Commissionerate  and representatives of various traders’ unions, the decision to form the task force came into effect.

    The task is being led by a team of officers from both by Food and Civil Supplies and Assam Police under the leadership of Executive Magistrate, Jituraj Gogoi (ACS) and Srabana Sonowal (ACS).

    The task force has been deployed in the Brahmaputra wholesale vegetable market, Pamohi wholesale vegetable market, Beharbari wholesale vegetable market, and the Fancy Bazar GMC wholesale vegetable market.

    The task force will monitor the market prices of vegetables, including that of onion and potato every day.
