State Govt declares ‘general holiday’ to observe 50th year of Statehood of Meghalaya
Guwahati: As part of the celebration of the 50th year of Statehood of Meghalaya, marking its Golden Jubilee, the Government of Meghalaya has declared a general holiday on January 21, 2022.
All state government offices, all revenue and magisterial courts, all educational institutions and also those institutions governed by N.I.Act in the state of Meghalaya shall remain close on the above-mentioned date.
It may also be mentioned that Meghalaya was carved out of Assam as an autonomous state in April 1970 and was declared a full-fledged state in January 1972.
