    Suicide in Dhubri Quarantine Centre

    Late Roy’s wife and the lone child were still at West Bengal’s Boxirhat till filing this report.

    Guwahati: One 40-year-old Sunil Roy, who was quarantined at Aziz Lodge, located in the Dhubri town’s ward No 7 of Bidyapara area, reportedly committed suicide on Monday.

    Late Sunil, who entered Assam through Sagalia check gate, adjacent to Dhubri district on June 12, was first quarantined at Sagalia itself. He stayed in the Sagalia quarantine centre till June 18. Later he was released to quarantine himself at home. However, since the deceased was not received by his relatives settling in Dhubri town, he was quarantined again in the city on June 19.     

    He was found hanging inside the hotel room on Monday. He worked as security guard in a private firm in West Bengal’s Siliguri town. He returned home following the shutting down of the company he worked due to lockdown.

    Notably, Late Sunil was tested coronavirus negative.

    The deceased left behind his wife and a child.

    The Dhubri district administration had taken the body under its custody from the lodge and sent for post mortem to the Dhubri civil hospital.
