Sunday Plan Sorted: Visit The Assam State Zoo To Meet Dhiren And Rani

The Asiatic lions were transferred from Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden, Gujarat on August 1st, 2019

What is a perfect Sunday for you? Stepping out of the house with friends for a small getaway, or a sleeping Sunday where you just want to unwire yourself from the entire world? Well, this Sunday go and visit Dhiren and Rani.

The two fierce Asiatic lions will be a welcome treat for you at the Assam State Zoo Cum Botanical Garden in Guwahati. The pair was transferred from Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden, Gujarat on August 1st, 2019.

Tejas Mariswamy, Divisional Forest Officer of Assam State Zoo said that the pair is a pure breed of Asiatic lions and they had adjusted themselves to the weather of Assam. They have even mated and the zoo officials are hoping for a piece of good news. The officials are hopeful that the two new wild beauties will attract more visitors to the zoo.

Also, as the heat in the city is becoming unbearable by the day, you will sit back and think twice to step out. But, we have got you all covered as the State Zoo has reintroduced golf cart services which will provide visitors shade during the scorching heat and also during the rains. At present, only two battery-operated cars are available in the zoo.
