    Suspected NDFB Cadre Arrested In Assam’s Udalguri

    The accused was arrested near the Tangla Railway Station

    Acting on a tip-off, the Tangla police on September 25th, 2019, arrested a suspected National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit cadre near Tangla Railway Station in Assam’s Udalguri district. Police recovered a .22 pistol from the possession of the accused.

    The accused has been identified as 29-year-old Raju Boro of Borodla village under Borbori Police Station in Baksa district.

    On the basis of the statement of the arrestee, police also detained one 31-year-old Medla Basumatary from Beltola area in Guwahati. Medla hails from Darugasua village under Dimakuchi Police Station in Udalguri district.

    A case (No 132/2019) under sections 25 (1-B) of the Arms Act has been registered with the Tangla police against the accused.
