    Suspected ULFA-I OGW arrested by Army, Police

    The team recovered a .22 pistol from the possession of the apprehended youth

    Guwahati: The troops of the Indian Army along with the Assam Police apprehended a suspected United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) over ground worker (OGW) near Ledo in Upper Assam’s Tinsukia district.

    As per defense sources, based on a specific input the team launched an operation in the area and apprehended an OGW identified as Sachin alias Hontu Borgohain.

    The apprehended person is suspected to be involved in extortion activities for the faction in the district. The team also recovered one .22mm pistol along with one magazine and three live rounds of ammunition from the individual.

    The source claimed that the apprehension of the OGW has severely hampered the activities of the proscribed group in the district.

    The apprehended individual along with recovered stores has been handed over to Ledo Police Station for further investigations.
