Party leader Akhil Gogoi on Wednesday said that the party has decided to contest Thowra and Mariani seats and hopes to win both.
The leaders alleged that Gogoi has been running the party single handedly leading to the dissatisfaction of several party workers
Gogoi informed that his party has sent a proposal to Assam Congress to leave at least one seat out of the six
The leader also mocked BJP’s planning to go big for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday, with a three-week-long campaign
He asked the dairy farmers to leave their cattle in front of chief minister’s residence if their demands were not addressed.
Ajmal also informed that the party may fight in maximum two seats out of the six seats going for the bypolls.
He also said that if the discussion doesn’t yield in any positive outcome, then Raijor Dal would fight in all the constituencies
On Monday, Assam Congress had announced that it has severed ties with the AIUDF and ousted the Ajmal-led party from the Grand Alliance
The question of the alliance between Congress and Gogoi got interesting when Gogoi was seen having a closed door meeting with BJP Minister Pijush Hazarika in New Delhi
Both the legislators were seen in a war of words after Islam claimed that Gogoi had asked for money to start his political front Raijor Dal
