Various cultural programmes were held at the festival while an exhibition cum sale of local products was organised on the occasion.
“A total of 82,751 hectares of Assam’s land have been encroached on by its four neighbouring states Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Mizoram”, Bora said.
Earlier, Assam chief minister said that representatives of KAAC would be included in the regional committee formed for resolving the phase 2 of disputed borders.
The interstate border conflict has been affecting Assam’s 23 districts out of 35 districts.
During the interaction with villagers, the ministers found that the people were having difficulty getting in traveling as the village falls in the reserved forest area under Assam.
Meanwhile, the Chief Ministers of both the states will also make visits to the dispute sites and talk to the local people.
The Assam delegation would be led by the Minister of Border Protection and Development Atul Bora, while the Mizoram will be led by Home Minister Lalchamliana.
The meeting was also attended by state’s chief secretary Jishnu Baruah and Arunachal Pradesh chief secretary Naresh Kumar
