As per officials, there are around 1800 bighas of land in Silsako Beel, of which 1200 bighas of land are under the clutches of encroachers.
For improving public safety the cabinet gave its nod to Assam Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Bill, 2023 which mandates use of surveillance equipment like CCTVs in spaces that see congregations of people .

The incident took place at Silsang area, when a speeding vehicle allegedly collided with their vehicle and sped off before being caught.

Recently, Assam police arrested a teacher from a madrasa in the Gobindopur area in Goalpara district for alleged links with Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).
“The portal is aimed at ensuring transparency in the public procurement by the government of Assam,” said Sarma.
