Bijuli Lahan, an entrepreneur from Darrang district said, “Government announces a lot in the name of supporting the weavers and entrepreneurs involved in the handloom sector. However, nothing happens in reality.”
The Assam government has decided to exclude all the cultural programmes, sports events and the award distribution ceremony, from the core list of items of the Independence Day celebration, keeping in mind the health protocols issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The advisory stressed that all programs should be organised in a way that large congregation of people is avoided and technology is used in best possible manner for celebration befitting the occasion.
