The two injured police personnel were identified as Pradip Singha and Gautam Mahanta.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the police in a tweet following the haul and said “Great work”.
There is a high probability of “extremely heavy” rainfall in the districts of Cachar, Dima Hasao, and Karimganj on Monday, said the official.
The accused identified as Joynarayan Goreri was arrested following a complaint lodged by the father of the victim who hailed from Magurasora village of Karimganj district.
The ganja was hidden under sheets of natural rubber in a truck coming from a neighboring state, officially added.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rashid Ahmed (35) and Dilowar Hussain (30), both residents of the Karimganj district.
